This apparatus is suitable to measurement of flexural resilience to load bending for hard textile, paper (except toilet paper just like tissue paper), and appraise the bending resistance.
Rotary the arm one side with thin rectangular specimen a certain speed, read the dial on the pendulum as the open-end of the specimen leaving the pendulum, and data out the bending resistance (mN) by the formula below.
The formula is different by the different specimen, for example, when the specimen is paper, it is Gurley-type bending resistance (mN). But all the tester structure is same.
The bending resistance (Br) is as below:
Br=RG×(aWa+bWb+cWc)×[(L-12.7)2/d]×3.375×10-5
Br : Bending resistance (mN)
RG : Dial as specimen leaving the pendulum (mgf)
