Use/Good point

This apparatus is used for estimating the resistance to bending, softness and stiffness of thin cloth, silk, cotton, synthetic fibers, tissue-paper, paper-towel, etc.
It is called “Handle‐O‐meter Method” in Method E of JIS L1096.
Place specimen on the plate set with slit, put into specimen with the blade up to the slit depth of 8㎜and the resistance value (g) when putting into the specimen is measured “Softness or Stiffness”.
It is different from the other methods, when push the specimen into the slit, the specimen slip repeatedly on the test table, so the measured resistance is the compounding force of sliding friction and softness.
＊Measurement work is quick and simple after setting a specimen just to push START switch.
＊According to " calibration mode" on the display, proofreading work is simple.
＊The mean of measured value / the option number of times can be printed out.
