Use/Good point

This is the water absorption speed tester developed under the guidance of Ishikawa Pref. Industrial Experiment Station to evaluate the absorbability of thin samples (test-piece thickness is about 3mm) such as fabric cloth, paper, filter paper, etc.
Hanging the test-piece vertically and leaving the other end in water, water absorption speed can be evaluated by measuring simultaneously the water rising height and time by capillarity.
2 kinds of measuring method as mentioned below are available by switching the measuring mode:
1. (Normal mode): Automatic measurement of water absorption height in a certain time - Normally 10 min. (5 test-pieces can be measured at a time)
2. (Real-time mode): Automatic measurement of water absorption height in real-time corresponding to the time passing, which is recorded in graph by printer. (1 test-piece)
[CONSTRUCTION]
As the slider, which is in linkage with 2 pole screws at right and left, has 「Wet sensor」 attached to the position correspond to each test-piece, it moves up and down by controlling servomotor with the output of wet sensor.
The water rising height is displayed on LCD monitor of control panel by pulse-counting the up-down moving range of slider.
At the same time, it is printed out with the printer of standard accessories.
In case of Real-time mode, time (second) and height (mm) from the start of measurement are printed out as graph on X・Y axes.
As the soaking bath has the up and down mechanism by handle and has Photo-sensor for setting position, the water level can be kept at a certain level and the measurement can be started automatically with the function of this sensor.
