Use/Good point
This is a tester to evaluate the resistance to the formation of pills and other related surface changes on textile fabrics.
The tester consists of a cylinder lined with a sheet of chloroprene and a pair rotating impellers. Pills are caused to form on fabric by a random rubbing action produced by tumbling specimens in cylinder test chamber within the time stipulated.
The degree of fabric pilling is evaluated by comparison of the tested specimens with photographs of fabrics, showing a range of pilling resistance.
