This tester is developed to appraise the curtains light blocking effect under the constant condition, based on method A of the JIS L-1055 (lightmeter method).
Turn on a light source (a Halogen electric bulb) and expose light to the light meter photoreceptor. Measure the illumination penetrated the specimen after adjusting light source to a brightness of 10,000 (1x) and obtain shading rate (%) by the following formula.
Shading Rate (%) = (1-I1/I0) × 100
I1 = the illumination with specimen (1x)
I0= the illumination without specimen (1x)
